Message from the Principal

image Being an eighth grade honors student in Bay County trying to decide where you will attend high school has become a very exciting and possibly confusing time in your life. Recruitment letters, special meetings and application deadlines all add up to the type of pressure one usually doesn’t encounter until the senior year in high school. Is all this necessary? Do you really have to commit yourself now?

Only you can answer this question. Each high school that has contacted you has an excellent academic program. For the next few minutes think about both your short term and long term goals in life. Which program best fits your needs? What type of high school experiences are you looking for? How will you develop your athletic and artistic talents while being committed to a rigorous academic program?  What does it take to get into the best colleges and universities?

Let us pose one more question: “What if you could design your perfect high school?“ As you work your way through the recruitment process with your parents and friends, keep this last question in mind. We are not sure we can claim perfection at Mosley just yet, but we do have a long history of academic excellence. Ingenuity and accepting new challenges have been Mosley trademarks since our school’s founding. One of our innovations has been the restructuring of our Advanced Placement Program along the lines of the best college preparatory academies in the country.

As you learn about us, you will see how we have started to define the perfect high school. We believe a college preparatory curriculum should have structure and coherence while allowing maximum flexibility and individual choice. The Mosley Advanced Placement Program for Success seeks to develop the total person by providing both an internationally accepted standard of academic excellence and a nurturing atmosphere.

Mosley will provide you with a high school experience you will remember throughout your life. We are committed to turning out students who will live effective and purposeful lives. You and your parents are invited to visit MAPPS at Mosley. As you prepare to make a decision which will shape the next four years of your life, let us show you and your parents the advantages Mosley has to offer. Please plan to attend an introductory MAPPS meeting at Mosley in January. A MAPPS Open House will be held at Mosley in February. Student-led tours of the campus will be given during this meeting. If you truly want to accomplish something in life, the Mosley Advanced Placement Program for Success has the resources to help you get started. Please feel free to call us at 872-4400, extension 3040 if you have any questions.

Sincerely yours,
